At the request of John D. Rockefeller, the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel was designed to be the 'central and dominant feature' of the University of Chicago. Remarkable features include a hand-carved organ, vaulted ceiling, and stained glass windows through which sunlight makes an imposing display upon the altar. The Chapel also features a Carillon with 72 bells. It is located on South Woodlawn Avenue between East 58th and E59th Streets. Top of PageDo you know of a Place that should be included here?
