The Palmer House Hilton is a famous and historic hotel in downtown Chicago built in 1871 but burned down just thirteen days later in the Great Chicago Fire.  Rebuilt and completed in 1875, it was widely advertised as the "World's only Fire Proof Hotel".  Famous visitors included Ulysses S. Grant, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, and Sarah Berhnardt.  It is located in the Chicago Loop near the Art Institute of Chicago, Grant Park, Millennium Park, State Street and Michigan Avenue.
