How does it work? Where did it come from? The Department of Energy, through its Office of Science, supports more than 90 percent of the federally funded research in high-energy physics in the United States. Fermilab is a DOE national laboratory. Guided tours for groups of between 10 and 40 people, high-school age or older, are available by appointment. Individuals or small groups will be added to scheduled tours, if possible. Elementary and middle school students can participate in on-site science programs. Check the site for more information.
