It was dedicated to the City of Chicago in 1927 as a memorial from Kate Buckingham to her late brother, Clarence. Every hour on the hour for 20 minutes the fountain center jet shoots 150 feet into the air. The fountain operates from April 1st through November 1st from 10am to 11pm daily.
